For Wimpy, a brand that prides itself on being welcoming, this risked excluding people and weakening its “Everyone’s Welcome” positioning online. We needed to show that Wimpy could greet South Africans in their own languages, in a way that felt personal, relevant and true to the brand.

Partnering with creative tech specialists Rebel Rebel and Mother Tongue Media, we created “The Most Welcoming Digital Banners”. These interactive, language-conscious ads turned static media into one-on-one conversations. The banners greeted users in their home language and invited them to engage with a Wimpy Burger and Shake promo in a friendly, conversational way.

The campaign delivered reach and engagement with thousands of interactions and click-through rates above industry benchmarks. More importantly, it proved that speaking to people in their own language could deliver results and bring Wimpy’s “Everyone’s Welcome” promise to life in digital spaces.
